Check the Tyre pressure, radiator water and fuel. Keep a spare wheel, Fan belt, Hose-pipe and tool box in the vehicle. Ensure that the lights are clean and operating properly. The number plates should be clearly visible. Check the Foot brake on start. Always use the Hand-brake while parking or stopping on a slope. Always keep both your hands on the steering wheel. Never coast downhill with your gears or transmission in neutral. It is advisable to have at least, ten minutes rest for every two hours you travel in plain areas and likewise one and a half hours in hilly terrain.

Overtaking is always associated with Zig- Zag driving because if one indulges in over-speeding he or she can move further only by overtaking other vehicles. In this way, such drivers violate the rules of lane driving and overtake without caring for other road users. The situations gets worsened when heavy vehicles, such as trucks or buses, indulge in over-speeding and overtaking as you cannot judge the speed of the approaching vehicles. So, the driver should overtake only after showing the intention of overtaking and seeing that there is enough space from the approaching vehicle.
